Sweeney Todd:

The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

CONCEPT DESIGN

I created a concept stage design for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street as an outdoor concert experience. My design concept was that London, street level, is limbo between heaven & hell. Due to the outdoor concert experience, I wanted to scale the design up utilizing three floors, the middle as limbo, the upper level as heaven, and the bottom level as hell. These would be depicted through materials and color.

To conceptualize, I imported my sketches as materials onto my digital model which helped visualize the set before building detailed elements. I also painted wall elevations in Photoshop and imported those as materials in the digital model to perfect the scenic paint direction. The final renders were done in V-Ray.
