Kamay Arts & Music Festival

Kamay Arts and Music Festival took place at Underground Atlanta during May 2023 – AAPI Heritage Month. Visitors were able to experience art and culture for free: murals, graphic design art installations supported by augmented reality technologies, a projection mapping experience on the dance floor, and DJs.

The idea for the event came from the artist Killamari, who wanted to bring together artists from Cambodia and the Philippines and play on the ocean that brings the two countries together.

I was tasked with designing the scenic look and feel of the event and leading the art direction to produce the sets and coordinate with vendors. Following the idea of an ocean theme paired with the physical location of Underground Atlanta, the design concept was that the event would gradually submerge visitors underwater as they progressed through the space.
