My concept design for a re-design of the film, Beautiful Creatures, would be that oil and water don’t mix. The magical realm would feature oil characteristics such as jewel tones, a darker color palette, and murkiness. The human realm would be represented by water with pale blues, transparency, and glass material.

The Caster Library would be used by those with magical abilities and would span an endless amount of space and time. I began the design process with research of ancient buildings as I wanted the space to be historic. Different archways in the stairs landing would represent various cultures, bridging together the ancient cultures that use the magical library.

In this project, I conceptualized using a wide variety of methods starting with sketches, a paper model, digital model, physical white model, and renders.
